Babson seeks an energetic and accomplished major gifts fundraiser to serve as Parent Giving Officer. The selected candidate will be responsible for engaging undergraduate parents through personal solicitation efforts with a specific focus on annual principal donor gifts (current-use gifts of $10,000 a year or more) as well as multi-year commitments in the $50,000-$100,000 range. The selected candidate will also identify and recruit Principal Donors to serve on the Parent’s Leadership Council.

S/He will mentor and supervise a Principal and Major Gifts team of up to 8 direct reports and manage a small portfolio of at least 25 $100,000+ prospects. The new AVP will oversee the Palm Beach Regional office as well. Qualifications include a minimum of seven to ten years of major gift fundraising experience or equivalent as well as strong managerial experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate a track record of successful major gift solicitations in the $100,000 + category in addition to excellent planning, communications, and writing skills.

The University of Rochester’s Advancement team is making history and inspiring a new generation of leaders to advance the University for the 21st Century. Senior Vice President Jim Thompson is building and reorganizing a dynamic advancement staff with a reinvigorated development strategy.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Advancement Services as part of the University Advancement and Advancement Services Team, the Senior Director oversees the activities and processes of Advancement Information Services in providing information technology support for the fundraising and alumni relations activities of the University of Rochester. The Senior Director serves as the primary liaison with the University’s office of Information Technology Services to represent Advancement’s needs, plan for resource allocation, and manage AIS/ITS joint initiatives. With the completion of the three year project that successfully implemented the OASIS alumni and donor tracking enterprise system, the Senior Director will develop the operational model that will guide the department and its interactions with the rest of Advancement and the University as a whole into the future.
Customer focused with significant management experience, the Senior Director must be analytical, understand data warehousing, relationship database products (Oracle) with a solid technical background. The Senior Director is responsible for the strategic technology plan and must understand new technologies and competing products. A minimum of five to seven years experience managing information systems support and development staff in a higher education setting is required. A minimum of four years experience with SunGardHE’s ADVANCE system is a must.
